		<description>For the trackpad/trackpoint thing, I have the same issue. My solution is to disable everything on the trackpad except for the scrolling.

These go into /etc/hal/fdi/policy/ and will take effect next time HAL starts up again.

If you want to turn off the buttons below (I imagine the T500 is similar to the T61 here), do the following on X start:

xinput set-button-map  0 0 0

That turns off the left and right mouse (and the non-existent middle) buttons. The device name for the bottom buttons probably differs from mine.</description>
