######################################## # README file # Version: N/A # Full Path: http://thecodergeek.com/configs/configs.README # Author: Peter Gordon (codergeek42) # The contents of this file are hereby placed in the public domain. ######################################## # ChangeLog: # 22 Oct 2006 - Add squid.conf file # 09 Oct 2006 - Add Xresources file # 09 Oct 2006 - Some minor wording fixes # 09 Oct 2006 - Initial public release ######################################## The files in this directory are those configuration files which I have edited from the defaults (or created if none existed). All of these configuration files begin with a commented header block describing it, with the following information: * which application or software package it is intended to be used in configuring, * the version of the aforementioned software, * and the full path of the file in the main filesystem (with a tilde to mark a user's home directory, such as /etc/package/foo.conf or ~/.applicationrc and similar) Please note that there are several configuration files that store sensitive information such as login information (such as the squid configuration), due to which, I cannot upload for public release for security concerns. Also, most software packages come with really nice defaults, and thus need little - if any - configuration, so these will also not be uploaded (though I will be happy to provide copies of any of these on specific request). The current list of configuration files, as well as the application or piece of software they store configuration info for, is as follows: * xorg.conf (X.org X11R7.1) * nanorc (GNU Nano) * gpg.conf (GNU Privacy Guard) * Xresources (Default X resource definitions) * squid.conf (Squid Caching Proxy configuration)
